David Kennedy
Chief Executive Officer
Role within Jersey Sport – As Jersey Sport CEO, David works closely with all relevant stakeholders across the Government of Jersey, the island’s sporting community and Public Health to deliver sport and physical activity programmes and interventions. He is accountable for the effective running of the organisation, ensuring high standards of reporting, governance, and compliance at all times.
Previous employment before Jersey Sport – David moved to Jersey in 2005 having previously worked with the Scottish Football Association. Between 2005 and 2017, David worked in the Sports Development Department at the Government of Jersey before taking up the role as General Manager at Jersey Sport. In 2020 he moved to the Jersey Football Association as CEO before returning to Jersey Sport in 2024.
High level/ sports related qualifications – David has achieved Level 7 in Management with the Chartered Management Institute and holds many NGB qualifications including a UEFA Level 4 qualification in Football.
Hobbies – A proud Scot who loves watching his beloved Alloa Athletic whenever possible. He also referees in the Jersey Football Combination League and is a keen cyclist.
