Role within Jersey Sport: Chloe holds the role of Sport Officer within the Sport Team at Jersey Sport. Responsibilities of her role includes coordinating all aspects of the Jersey Sport grant administration functions and providing professional support for the sporting community in Jersey. Chloe’s role will help build strong relationships with island sport and encourage them to work collaboratively with Jersey Sport to build a firm foundation for growth and equity in safe and sustainable sporting environments.
Prior to this, Chloe spent two years as Lead Cycle Instructor within the Jersey Sport Cycling Team, where she delivered the Ready Set Ride and Bikeability programmes to primary school children on-island. She played a key role in the planning and delivery of our Cycling School Holiday Provision, Adult Learn to Ride programme and Move More Cycling Pop-Up events.
Previous employment before Jersey Sport: Before starting at Jersey Sport in September 2020, Chloe was heavily involved with local gymnastics, and worked full time at a local club as an Elite Gymnastics Coach. She first began coaching lower-level gymnasts at the age of 15 and moved to a full-time position in 2015. During this time, she was heavily involved with coaching the clubs developmental – elite level squad gymnasts as well as the ‘every day running’ of the club. She supported young athletes representing Jersey at the island games as well as those attending Age Group National Finals for both the ‘National’ and ‘Elite’ competition systems. This experience has provided her with a unique insight into the common hardships many island sports are facing, which she hopes to help support sports clubs with moving forward.
During the Summer of 2016, Chloe worked on a cultural-exchange programme at the International Gymnastics Camp based in the Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania. Here she spent four months coaching gymnastics with coaches and gymnasts from around the world! This experience helped develop her coaching skills by gaining technical knowledge and learning coaching techniques from a huge pool of talented coaches throughout the Summer.
High level / sports related qualifications: Chloe is a qualified Level 2 Women’s Artistic Gymnastics coach; UK Level 1 Gymnastics coach and she holds an IGC Professional Coaching Diploma Level 1 in Gymnastics coaching from her time spent in America.
Her Cycling qualifications include ‘Ready Set Ride’, Bikeability Levels 1-3 and she holds both her British Cycling Level 1 Coaching award and Ride Leadership award.
Hobbies: Chloe enjoys keeping active by weight training, cycling, running, paddleboarding and walking her two dogs Dexter and Hannah. She also loves to bake during her spare time!
