Libby Barnett

Interim Sports Development Manager

Role within Jersey Sport: Interim Sports Development Manager.

Previous employment before Jersey Sport: Prior to her appointment Libby worked as a Mentor for the Government of Jersey’s apprenticeship programme, Trackers.

Libby also travelled for two years to fuel her love for travel by ticking multiple countries off her around the world list. After holding numerous volunteer roles locally and at university, she is now happy to combine her passion for sport and oversees aid as a Director for the Jersey 2 Africa 4 Football Foundation.

High level / sports related qualifications: Libby has had a passion for sport since a young age, playing and coaching a multitude of sports locally and further afield over the last twenty years. She graduated from the University of Bath with a BA (Hons) Sport & Social Sciences in 2014.

Libby is a Level 2 football coach, Level 1 trampoline and volleyball coach, and holds a number of professional development qualifications, including a Level 5 Coaching & Mentoring Diploma, Level 3 Award in Education and Level 5 TEFL accreditation. Her next challenge is a part-time Masters in Education post-graduate degree which begins with the Open University in October 2021.

Libby is still involved in sport locally as a player, coach, committee member and liaison for her childhood football club Jersey Wanderers FC and the JFA Island Representative side at Muratti and Island Games since 2009.”

Hobbies: When Libby isn’t on a football pitch, you’ll find Libby at CrossFit or making the most of Jersey’s beautiful coastlines.
