2021 Annual Report outlines vital work to reduce inequality and support all Islanders to access affordable sport and physical activity

Jersey Sport has published its Annual Report for 2021 which highlights some of the key achievements, developments and changes across the organisation as they continue to Inspire an Active Jersey and aim to increase physical activity amongst Islanders by 10%, by 2030.

As an independent body and charitable organisation, Jersey Sport is proud to serve the island’s sports clubs, organisations, volunteers and individual players at all levels, and to promote active living, sport and physical activity for all.

Phil Austin MBE, Chair of Jersey Sport, said “Now in our fifth year, we are incredibly proud of the work our teams have delivered and the programmes, resources and facilities now in place that will have a significant impact on the overall health and well-being of Islanders.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the entire team at Jersey Sport for their continued commitment to the organisation, which has gone from strength to strength despite the pandemic throughout 2020 and 2021. I would also like to express my sincere thanks to our funders and sponsors, including the Government of Jersey, whose support enables us to continue stretching to reach bold goals for the people of Jersey.

The information and statistics that you will see in our 2021 Annual Report are clear evidence of the ongoing hard work and dedication of our teams and we look forward to further growth and development in 2022 and beyond.

During 2021, Jersey Sport underwent a period of expansion, enabling the team to significantly increase the range of programmes and services on offer, and to continue the vital work of reducing inequality and assisting all Islanders in accessing affordable sport and physical activity programmes and facilities, in addition to supporting sports organisations and clubs in a number of new and exciting ways.

Jersey Sport’s CEO, Catriona McAllister, also continues to work closely with the Government of Jersey to drive the sports facilities strategy forward in the island, which could ultimately position Jersey as a world leader in sport and active living over the next 10 years and beyond.
